16.1.2012 - Defa Ford Fiesta Trophy Finland rally series starts in May

Two previous Champions of Ford Fiesta Trophy, mr. Jussi Kumpumäki and mr. Jukka Korhonen have gained new boost for their international rally careers from the victories of Ford Fiesta Trophy Finland, which is about to be organized for third time in a row - Now with a new partner: Defa.

In two previous seasons Ford Fiesta Trophy Finland has have its' start in the middle of winter, but in season 2012 the series includes only gravel events.

- We decided to skip winter season and start our series in May on gravel surface, tells organizer Teemu Horkama.

- Economically the situation is not so good and therefore we're forced to start the season after winter rounds. Now we also have stronger possibility to get more Ford Fiesta drivers for the events, Horkama explains.

For two complete seasons Horkama has organized Ford Fiesta Trophy rally series in Finland. He also continues to organize the series also on season 2012 and makes co-operation with British M-Sport.

- In previous season we had nine competitors measuring the speed against each others and the clock. However for some reason only three drivers have entered Finnish Rally Championship series with Ford Fiesta rally car. There are many good cars available for our Defa Ford Fiesta Trophy Finland and therefore please contact me for purchasing or renting highly competitive Ford Fiesta R2 rally car, Horkama confirms.

Defa Fiesta Trophy 2012 rally calendar

Defa Fiesta Trophy Finland includes five (5) rounds and points from four best rounds is to be included for final standings. In fifth round there are 1,5x points to be given for the drivers.

09.6. - FRC Lapua rally
14.7. - FRC Kouvola rally
18.8. - FRC Merikarvia rally
15.9. - FRC Kerava rally (1.5x points)
